Dolphin Dynamics Press Releases
Dolphin Dynamics introduces additional benefits for agents on FlightScanner by integrating with Trade Fare Explorer, the enhanced Booking Tool for agents from British Airways.
Dolphin FlightScanner is to add British Airways, as the largest new carrier it searches in addition to the 10 websites it already supports. FlightScanner is a Web based search engine, exclusive to travel agents, that allows the user to enter search criteria in a single screen and returns real time fares and availability from the web sites of multiple carriers. FlightScanner connects to the Travel Agents' section of the airline sites, where available, and is specifically designed for the needs of the European market place. FlightScanner is available exclusively to travel agents that can register free at www.flightscanner.biz.
London, 16 December 2002: Dolphin Dynamics Ltd, developers of Dolphin for Windows, the leading edge office automation system for travel agencies, is pleased to announce that as of December 16th British Airways will be the first 'full service' carrier (alongside their oneworld partner Aer Lingus) to be featured on the FlightScanner search engine.
FlightScanner will integrate with British Airways Trade Fare Explorer and will initially display Domestic and European fares only, for trips originating from the UK and Ireland. Trade Fare Explorer is British Airways' new, easy to use, web based booking tool for travel agents based in the United Kingdom, which has replaced BA Reservations On-Line (BAROL) for fast and easy availability of low fares. What's more Travel Agents can still earn their full British Airways booking payments and get free ticket fulfilment from British Airways.
Registration with Trade Fare Explorer is mandatory in order to have BA fares displayed on FlightScanner. Registration can be done on line via the British Airways trade website www.batraveltrade.com.
Travel Agents need an IATA or TID number to register for Trade Fare Explorer, and after a short post-registration validation period, registered agents are able to make bookings on Trade Fare Explorer and get awarded full booking payments.
Spencer Brace, Manager, New Distribution Models, British Airways, said, British Airways is constantly reviewing new ways of distributing our product utilising the developments in modern technology. Dolphin FlightScanner represents a great opportunity to achieve this to the agency community, which is an extremely important distribution channel for British Airways."
Dolphin Dynamics President, Roberto Da Re said, "With the integration with Trade Fare Explorer we are looking to offer the best possible search and booking tool to those agents that specialise in the European City brakes market and do not have a GDS or are not familiar with one. FlightScanner users will be able to see all flight options in a single screen and really offer their customers the best option in a matter of seconds. It is our intention to continue to expand the participation in FlightScanner of scheduled traditional airlines that offer Travel Agents specific booking capability. FlightScanner is not a consumer product but clearly a Travel Agent tools and will continue to evolve in that direction."
FlightScanner is offered exclusively to bona fide travel agents.
