Safety comes first for most people while travelling and even though some world events might stop people from travelling to certain places, there are still loads of destinations that are incredibly safe to travel to. Here are some of our favourite ones.
This Scandinavian country couldn’t be safer in our opinion. I mean when people leave their kids in their prams outside of pubs and restaurants, while parents dine with the baby monitor on the table, then you know a city like Copenhagen must be safe.
When two cities in a country rank in the Crime Index 2019 top 10 cities with the lowest crime rate, then that’s good enough to rank on our top 5 of safe countries to travel to. Tokyo and Osaka are the cities featured in said list and both offer a wealth of things to do for tourists.
On the same Crime Index 2019 list we found both Abu Dhabi and Dubai in the top 10 for cities with the lowest crime rate. The strict laws make sure that crime is kept to a minimum, but having said that, be mindful you adhere to local rules and laws as things you can get away with at home, might not be allowed in the UAE.
France also deserves a place in our top 5 as it has banned catcalling and street sexual harassment, which is great news for women solo travellers if not travellers in general.
With its extremely high environmental standards, and a very low threat level Finland is one of the most cheerful places on Earth according to 2018 World Happiness Report, released annually by the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network. So if living here makes you one of the most happy people on earth, then a holiday in Finland is certain to put you in a good mood.
