Dolphin Dynamics Releases Latest Upgrade Which Includes Several GDPR Related Enhancements

Dolphin Dynamics has released the newest version of its travel management software that includes several features to help their customers better prepare for data protection compliance in advance of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) that comes into force on the 25th of May 2018.

These enhancements include:

  1. Storing data electronically and securely
  2. Tracking customers’ marketing consent
  3. Satisfying customers’ “right to access”

Subsequent enhancements to the system are scheduled for release over the coming months which will bring additional compliance benefits to Dolphin users such as facilitating the “right to erasure” and automatically removing old personal information.

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) gives EU citizens the right to access their personal data and to know how their data is used as well as the right to withdraw their personal data at any

time.  Furthermore, businesses can’t market to consumers without obtaining explicit consent (unless they purchased from that business which may qualify as “soft consent”).

Chuck Richardson, MD of Dolphin Dynamics said:” GDPR compliance is a headache for many travel businesses, both in the immediate term and as an ongoing overhead. As part of our CRM offering, we have been working hard to minimise the impact of GDPR on our customers and to give them the peace of mind in relation to their compliance so that they can remain focused on selling travel!”

Many Dolphin customers have already upgraded to the latest release and more clients will be upgrading to the newest version over the next few weeks.
